About The Firm

Founded in 2016 by Jessica Pickens, JPD is a full service design firm specializing in spacial concepts, interior architecture, material selection, decor and accessories. JPD strives to create uniquely individual environments born from a deep understanding of practical needs, overarching design concepts and stylistic preferences. Located in Manhattan, New York, JPD pulls design influences from every corner of the city, but emphasizes contemporary design that is layered with soft romanticism and hints of the unexpected. 

JPD collaborates with clients throughout every step of the design process including concept development, spacial planning, hard material selection, furniture design, lighting selection, art curation, accessorizing and project installation. About The Founder

Jessica Pickens is a formally trained interior designer experienced in residential, hospitality and commercial projects. In 2013, Jessica made the decision to leave her successful career in corporate marketing behind to follow her dream to become an full-time designer and has not looked back since. 

Upon graduating the prestigious interior design program offered at Parsons School of Design, Jessica began her professional design career at a high-end residential firm located on Manhattan's Upper East Side. During her employment she oversaw the gut renovation of a 19th century townhouse on Manhattan's Upper West Side, as well as a the total redesign of a Tarrytown, NY home. Her residential experience allowed her to build relationships with major design showrooms, antique vendors, art galleries and custom millworkers across the city--all of which she holds today. 

Looking to expand her design skills into the hospitality and commercial spaces, Jessica joined one of North America's top design firms, Yabu Pushelberg. Her time at YP shaped her aesthetic, approach and outlook on design and instilled the importance of crafting spaces with overarching concepts in which all design elements can be routed from. 

With the formation of JPD in 2016, Jessica has been able to combine both walks of life by creating a full service small company--run with the upmost professionalism--that is dedicated to creating timeless spaces clients are proud to call their own.
